The track really needs alot of help. Its a free for all out there. If some kids buy a membership they can go down late at night and drink, break glass, and screw up the track. We need to revoke the key privalage and do somthing like pmp.

For 1 KIDS can not buy the key's. Parents are responasable for the track. if YOU would let someone know License plate numbers or color and make of the vehicle, then we could do something about it. Please call one of the officers of the track. We have the direct number to Sheriff Grady. Nomads will never be like PMP, because of BLM and the rules we have to follow with them.
Thank you,
Sonya

maybe we cant be like PMP, but we could become more responsible about the key issue. Give this a thought. what if, jonny who is say 16 and rides, gets his dad to give him the key to the gate so he can ride a bit after school. jonny goes to the track and is all alone there. then he does the finish line and crashes. he breaks his collar bone and lies in pain for hours because no one else is there to help him. thank God that hasnt happen. But it could. so there has to be a was to regulate the use of the track for the sake of safety. I have seen parents there, who just bought a quad and have no training on riding. they barley have the proper gear if any. then they ride in the parking area to learn how to operate the quad. so far, luck is with us. there needs to be proper training, which should come from the dealers. that extension should then come to the track. I was at the track sunday, a inexperienced rider crashed and i ran to pick him up and a friend of mine flaged down other rides to let them know someone was down. it was at the bottom of the finish line, so riders couldnt see him.
supervision is an issue.

MR Anonymous,
I work at a LOCAL SHOP and we do offer a atv riders safety class to EVERYONE who buys a quad, wheather or not they except it is there own demise. We can't force them to take the class. So THERE is not an issue. When the parents sign the application form there is a strong responsability on the parent to be there, the form states in case of an accident or even death, pretty harsh word there, if I had to sign a form like that I would not let my child go "alone" to the track. I have seen too many accidents and parents should be at fault, if they let there child go alone unsupervised. The matter of a track safety day shouldn't have an issue here, the people who signed the form are RESPONSABLE for the pleople they put on the form when they got the key....

This doesnt need to become a personal issue. We are just voicing are comments and concerns about the track. We just want to get the track back up and running again. What happend to it? In 03 i think it was... Nomads was having racing going on and everthing seemed ok. So what happend? Why did things fall apart? I had a thought for the racing. You said we need 14 flaggers. Which i dont think we do because there weren't 14 flaggers when racing was going on. So my idea was to get all the home-less people around sierra vista and ask them if they would like to come out to the track to flag for the races. Tell them they would get some meals and as much water as they want. And mabye pay them $5.00....I'm sure they wouldnt mind if they had a way to get there. There are ways to get the track the running, we just need to start doing somthing. Dont take it all personally.
Hopeflly all the members will get to put thier input in. And voice some ideas.

The reason the track has not run like it might have in the past is that those that have recently volunteered (and there has been a small dedicated number) refuse to be slaves to NOMADS. In order to have races, regular maintenance, advertising, sponsors etc... you need TONS of work. There has been little response from the NOMADS members in the last couple years to this demand for help. Work days and requests for help are answered with "we were busy" and "we were at the races in ..." To the last poster, all members will get their inut and ideas in, they always do. There are no shortage of great ideas. The real question is will the club get any help from these folks?

Are there any exceptions? If a parent agrees to sign anything or somthing?

No you would have to be of legal age to run for president. If your parent wants to run then fine. Just like you have to be 18 to vote in an election. YOU have to be 18, no waivers from parents! There is always next year!

Sooo I know we "ride at our own risk" but there are quite a few people being injured out at the track lately. I dont mean just average joe putting around on the track either. I for one will sure be out there this weekend to help clean up and hopefully improve the track. I think we need to maybe re-think the 6 month between track prep thing.
